PLEASE
PRAY FOR. . .those who have died, especially Louis
Huebner, Jr., son of Louis and Anna Marie Huebner. May
he rest in peace. REFLECTING THROUGHOUT THE WEEK
Assembly & Faith-Sharing
Groups
How
have you participated in religious exclusivity
(“we
tried to prevent him. . . .”)? What
is lost through such efforts?
What
have you done today (recently) “in [Jesus’]
name?”
What
do you need to remove (“cut it off”) to
keep God’s kingdom central?
Hospitality Ministers
Consider
that hospitality is rarely seen as a “mighty
deed;” nevertheless, it embodies a spirit of inclusivity
that the assembly continually needs to heed.
Music Ministers
In
what ways can you deepen your sense of doing music ministry “in
Jesus’ name” (gospel)? Do you ever find you
own “name” getting
in the way? When that happens how does Christ call you
back to fidelity?
Altar Ministers
There
are many more enjoyable things to do than serve others.
What have you had to set aside (“cut it off” to
live “in [Jesus’] name?”
Lectors
Consider
how giving “a cup of water to drink because
[another belongs] to Christ” is an integral part
of lector preparation.
Eucharistic Ministers
Consider
how you witness in your ministry what Moses only dreamed: “Would
that the Lord might bestow his spirit on them all!” (first
reading).
